Here is an interesting stoty.John is an American student.He went to Japan and stayed there for two months last year.I didn’t know how he spent such a long time there,because he had little money.
“How did you do it,John?”I asked,“I thought you would stay for only two week.”
“It was not difficult,”John answered.“I got a job.”
“A job!”I was surprised.“What did you do?”
“I taught a shop assistant English,”John anwered.“His name is Frank.We good friends now.”
“But you not a language teacher,and you can’t speak Japanese,”I said.
“I told Frank I couldn’t teach,”John said,“but he want to practice his English.He a lot of American shoppers,so it was important for him to speak English.Then I spent three hours a day taking to him.And he gave me a room,three meals a day,and some money.”
“Did your student learn much English?”I asked.
“I don’t know,”John said,“but I learned a lot of Japanese.”

A certain old gentleman was very unhappy abont modern education.He thought that young people nowadays were not tanght how to know the difference between right and wrong.
One day,he was taking a walk in the park near his home.There he saw some boys.They were standing around a small cat.The old gentleman went up to the boys asked them what was happening.One of the boys said to him,“We’re having a contest.We’re telling lies.We want to see who can tell the biggest lie.The biggest liar can get the cat.”
The old gentleman thought that this was a good opportunity.He could use this opportunity to teach the boys a useful lesson.So he said to them,“I”ve never told a lie in my life.All at once,there was a great shout from all the boys.They all said,“You won.You can take the cat.”

（二）空气围绕在我们四周.在我们谈话和玩耍的时候它围绕着我们.从我们出生那一刻起,空气就无处不在的围绕着我们.我们坐下,它围绕着我们；我们上床睡觉,他也围绕着我们.我们活在空气里.
所有的活着的生物都需要空气,他们离开了空气就不能生存.我们可以几天不吃不喝,却不能几分钟内不去呼吸空气.我们吸收空气.我们睡觉时,需要的空气会少些.
我们活在空气中,但是我们却看不见它.我们只能在它流动的时候感受它.流动的空气我们叫它风.你怎么才能使空气流动起来呢?这里有一个方法：把一本书打开,捧在手中,放在面前,快速的合上它!感受到什么了吗?你感受到的是空气.
（三）一个老绅士对现代教育非常不满.他认为今天的年轻人没有被教会怎么去区分对和错.有一天他在家附近的公园里面散步,看到一些男孩子,他们围着一个小猫站着,老人走向男孩子们问发生了什么事.他们中的一个告诉他说：“我们在比赛撒谎,看谁撒得谎最大,他就得到这只猫.”老人心想这是个好机会啊!他可以借此机会给这些男孩子上非常有用的一课.因此他对他们说：“我一生中从来没说一次谎”马上,所有的男孩子都大喊起来,他们一起说：“你赢了!这只猫是你得啦!”
