but I could hardly claim to know my way around the continent.这里的claim不是声称吗,在这里就不译通呀?
How would I ,(unable to speak the language,totally unfamiliar with local geography or transportation systems,)set up interviews and do research?这句里的interviews不懂.我知道括号里是插入的.这句是：我怎么能建立一个interviews做一个研究?
Halfway through,a thought ran through my mind.什么过去了,一个想法一闪而过?
The point is that the new,the different,is almost by defintion scary.
还有,我词性基本都能看出来,而且他挖的空是什么词性我也能看出来,但是为什么我选的答案我自己能翻译通,而正确答案给带进去我就翻译不通了啊!每次做完就对了2个,

claim:在这里译为要求或是需要的意思整个句子的大概意思就是“但是在大陆周围我几乎不需要知道自己在哪里”（也就是说在大陆几乎不需要认得路）
interviews:在这里应该译为与人谈话的意思.整个句子的意思大概是“（在这样一个语言不通而且又完全不熟悉当地的地理和交通运输系统的情况下）,我怎样才能与人建立谈话并且开始我的研究呢”
Halfway through我觉得需要一个上文的语境才行
最后一句的意思大概是“关键的是新鲜的与众不同的事物大部分会引起人们的不安.”
能力有限仅能翻译到这程度了希望能有点帮助吧
这类的题要求对词汇掌握程度很高当年我对此类题也是头疼不已啊
