可是spend 后面不是doing吗
究竟是为什么?

spend time / money (in) doing sth. 的表达是没有错的.但这道题的关键是do后不能接v-ing形式.题中do是替代动词,代替前面的spend,但其用法须以do的用法来定,而不能再以spend的用法来定了.不知这样讲你是否能明白?欢迎追问.
