He said:“I can not teach anybody anything.I can only make them think”.His essence of teaching was inspiring mode.Second,teachers and students play different roles in education between different cultures.In China,teachers are the educators and students are the person who can only to be educated.This kind of relationship between teachers and students ensures the authority of teachers.It can improve the efficiency of teaching.But it reduces the autonomy and creativeness of students.In Western countries,the relationship between teachers and students are more harmonious.They have equal footings.A teacher plays his role as a guide.Students always ask questions to the teachers and they refute the teachers sometimes.So in some ways,the teachers can learn something from the students too.Third,they have different attitudes towards knowledge.The Chinese students are trying their best to acquire knowledge as soon as possible while the students in Western countries are thinking about whether the knowledge is ture.In the aspect of cultivating creativity,the Chinese students often use the knowledge,rules and laws that they already knew to solve the problem.However,the students in Western countries are often better than them in challenge,critical spirit and creativity.Besides,because of the system of education in China has a selection properties,all the parents try to help their children with their studies as much as possible.Nevertheless,the parents in Western countries do differently.They think that teaching knowledge is the work of teachers and they don’t have the duty to help their children with their study.In addition,two kinds of education systems teach students different knowledge or ability.The Chinese education prefers to teach knowledge to the students and helps them deep analysis of the knowledge.The Western education prefers to make the students pay more attention to put the knowledge they learned into practice,whereas they don’t ask all the students to know the knowledge in depth.
