Dear Jack,
This coming summer holiday, I would like to invite you to my hometown Changsha. I have told my parents and they welcome you and are happy about it too.
There a lot of beautiful and historic place in Changsha. A must visit tourism site is the Yuelu Academy, a time-honored academic school perched o­n the scenic Yuelu Mountain. Originally built in 976 during the Song Dynasty, the academy school survived through the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties and is considered to be the cradle of Huxiang Culture.
Besides that we can plan a trip to the village of Shaoshan, about 130 kilometers south-west of Changsha. It is the hometown of Chairman Mao. They have preserved the houses he lived and a few memorial spots as a tourist site.
I knew that you love spicy food so i will definitely let you try our Xiang Cuisine, which is o­ne of the Eight Cuisines in China. It has a fine and delicate appearance and a hot and sour taste. I will also treat you my favourite food, 'Stinky Tofu' and 'Sisters'Rice Balls' in Huogongdian (Fire Palace) and the famous spicy shrimps at Nanmenkou. My brother said that he will bring us to watch an acrobatic show too, performed by his friends.
I really hope that you can come to Changsha this coming August. Send my regards to your parents and younger sister, Jane as well.
