In the world, the thousands of different kinds of animals exist. With the development of technology, many animals are dying. Shepard said "we would be less mature, care less for and be more careless of all life, including our own kind "(Shepard 1978). People must save animals. It is not unethical to keep animals in zoos. Some animals are protected in the zoos. People must prevent them being extinct.
One of the reasons of keeping animals in zoos is protecting them. Every species has own origin, evolution and extinction. However, some species were endangered because of human. The reason is circumstances. Climate, food or everything can be the cause why some animals become fewer and fewer. People must do something for them so people set the zoo where some animals can live in the city. For example, panda was a kind of endangered animals in the past of China. Most of them lived in Sichuan of China before 1961. At that time, the number of pandas was less than one hundred and getting smaller and smaller. When pandas became the first class national protected animals of China. They moved to the zoos. Now, the numbers of pandas is more than one thousand. Therefore, animals are protected with keeping them in the zoos.
The another one of the reasons of keeping animals in zoos is keeping their breeds. With the hunting of technology, many kinds of animals were disappeared. Lots of animals are close to being extinct, such as northern white rhinos, white-flag dolphins, manchurian tigers
and so on. The most typical example is about tiger. From the 20th century, the number of tigers had fallen by at least 95%. Nowadays, there are only four thousand tigers in the world and about one thousand tigers in China and less than one hundred manchurian tigers in China. The Manchurian Tiger Park is the biggest artificial breeding center of tigers.
