The next day, Maria gets up early. She wants to go in the Pacific Ocean to surf.“Look at the waves,” says Maria to herself. “It looks like it’s a perfect day for surfing.”“Ah! What a beautiful day,” says Kate. “But where’s Maria?”Kate look out of the tent, “There you are,” says Kate. “Are you hungry, Maria?”“Yes, I am,” says Maria. “I want to go to Hot Shop for a fruit sandwich.”“OK, then,” says Kate. “Jim and I want a fruit sandwich, too. And don’t forget three coconuts. Take this money, Maria. And don’t drop it. You can go and buy a fruit sandwich.”“Yes!” says Maria excitedly. “I’m going to the Hot Shop to buy a fruit sandwich. It is coconut, mango and banana sandwich.”She run the half of the way left. Then she runs in the Hot Shop.“Do you have a coconut, mango and banana sandwich?” Maria asks the shop assistant.“Yes, we do,” says the shop assistant. “Actually, we’ve got lots of them. How many will you like?”“Three,” says Maria. “And three fresh coconuts and three bananas.”“OK,” says the shop assistant, “That’s thirty yuan please.”“Yuan?” asks Maria. “We don’t have yuan. We only have pounds.”“Oh,” says the shop assistant, “That’s fifteen pounds please.”“OK,” says Maria. “Here’s the money. Can you put them in a basket for me so I can get home more easily?”“Of course,” says the shop assistant. “Here you are.”“Thank you, bye-bye!”“Bye!”Maria brings the basket to her tent.“Let’s have them inside the tent,” says Jim.“OK,” says Maria. “Since it’s so hot outside.”The sandwiches are delicious. After Maria eat the food. She takes out a shovel and some other plastic tools.“I want to build a sandcastle first,” says Maria. “Anyway, the waves is a little bit too big now,”First, Maria digs with her shovel, she digs a circle, it’s the moat.She make it big. So the wall and the castle can be fit in.Next, Maria digs a thin water-way. So the some of the sea water can come into the thin water-way and fill the moat.Then, Maria build the wall with a cup. She put wet sand in. Tip it over. At last, tap it. That make one piece of wall. But there is still a lot more to go.Ah! The protect of the castle is finish. Now, for the hardest job, building the sandcastle. （I mean, real sandcastle.）Maria dig and dig. At last she make a castle.At last, time for decorations.Soon, it’s around lunch time, The castle is finished. But Maria is hungry. She run to her parents for bread and tomatoes. And strawberry ice cream. But it has already turn into strawberry soup in a eatable party hat!But Maria didn’t care. She likes her lunch. After lunch. She begins kites surfing. At six thirty in the afternoon. She haves dinner. And At nine o’clock. She goes to bed.And Maria spends her rest of the holiday like this.Until the second day backwards of the summer holiday.Maria goes home with her mom and dad, Kate and Jim. By plane. But this time the plane is 5JK9, London Airlines. Maria wants to stay there. But she has to go back to London.“Bye! Hainan Island! I will miss you.” And the seagulls repeat her. Words come out from Maria’s head to fit their tune. It sounds like, “Bye, Maria. Lord of Hainan Island.” Again and again.The last day of the holiday is arrived. They will relax for this day.
