有“华夏警花第一骑”之誉的大连女子骑警大队成立于1994年12月,是国内成立最早的一支女子骑警队伍,也是世界第一只成编制的女子骑警队.目前,女子骑警大队主要负责大连繁华场所路段的巡逻、大型商贸文体活动的执勤、首长外宾的礼仪警卫、礼仪展示等任务.自2001年起,女骑警们采取马巡、车巡、步巡相结合的方式,坚持无假日治安巡逻,被许多游客赞扬为“滨城靓丽的风景线”,同时,女骑警基地也正式对外开放.
女骑警建队至今,先后有50多人次被记功嘉奖,并获得“巾帼文明示范岗”、“青年文明示范创建单位”等荣誉称号.2004年10月,大连女骑警代表全国的公安骑警参加了“全国公安民警大练兵汇报演练”,以饱满的精神、精湛的骑术接受了检阅,女骑警代表还受到了胡锦涛总书记的亲切接见.现在,大连现代博物馆特设有女骑警馆,将女骑警的用过的马鞍马刀、穿过的各式服装和获得的荣誉牌匾作长久性存展.

Dalian Female Mounted Police Team,reputed as Chinese No.1 Female Mounted Police,was established in December 1994,considered as the eldest domestic Female Mounted Police Team ,also the world's first Female Mounted Police Team in government preparation,the Female Mounted Police Team is mainly responsible for the road patrol of Dalian bustling place,the security of the large-scale commerce and entertainment activities,acting as the ceremonial guard when leaders and foreign guests visit,and taking charge of ceremonial display etc..Since 2001,the Female Mounted Police Team has adhered to the holiday-free security patrol by combination of patrol on horse,patrol in car and patrol on foot.Many visitors praised them as "beautiful landscape in the seaside city",and the Female Mounted Police Team Base was officially opened to the visitors.
Since this team was established,there have been more than 50 people been awarded,it won the honor of "Excellent Female Civilization Station " and " Youth Civilization Paragon Unit ".In October 2004,Dalian Female Mounted Police Team participated in "The National Police Training Performance" on behalf of the National Public Security Mounted Police,received leaders' review with high spirit and superb riding skill,the team's representative also received cordial interview from Chairman Hu Jintao.
Now the Dalian Modern Museum has branch for Female Mounted Police Team,the saddle and saber used by the female mounted police,a variety of clothing ,and many honorary plaque are kept for long-term exhibition.
