Anyone who wish to make changes in this area will attract the most savage attacks from electorates in nearly all demographically areas. And for a politician, it marks the end of their political career. But what is the reason for all this craziness? The answer is fairly simple, perhaps only one word, safety!

Undoubtedly, the sense of security that a weapon provides us is enormous. This fact is clearly demonstrated by the rapid rise of firearms sale in US after the catastrophic event of 9/11. This is statement may sound contradictory for people living in Asian Pacific or Commonwealth countries where owning a private gun is illegal, but for folks living in America, the social and safety issue regarding purchasing a gun is very much real. Particularly when gun related violence and crimes are reported in TV news almost everyday, keeping a gun in the household seems a much safer opinion.
