这题答案是make,说是“to make sure we are in the proper mental state”作目的状语,但也有说是 “adjust ourselvs to making sure...” making sure作宾语.此题应如何理解?

我觉得to引导的是一个目的状语,因为地道的英语用法中,adjust如果和to连用的话,是不会再加一个句子的,一般都是直接加名词的,比如适应环境或是适应某件事物.
