First, at the beginning of each week of classes, check and see what is coming in the week. Observe what homework is due, see if you have any papers to write, and what tests you need to prepare for.

After realizing what you must accomplish in the week, make a mental note of the important assignments (i.e. tests, papers). Then write down which days and times you are going to study and which you are going to do homework. Remember that most social events occur in the evening, so plan to maybe wake up an hour earlier to get some work done. Also plan to do your assignments between classes. Do the work for a certain class directly after leaving that class. The subject matter is fresh on your mind.

Stick to your schedule! When you are working, don't have distractions. Go to the library and find a quiet spot where you can focus on your assignments. Don't open up social networks, such as Facebook or MySpace, on the computer. They WILL distract you. It is alright to take breaks and give your mind a rest but remember that you must get your assignments done to have fun later.

After following these steps, you should have your work done, understand the material, and still have your nights open! Go out and have fun! But be sure to get back in time to get a good amount of sleep so you can do the same the next day.
