你已经初步理解非谓语其实可以等于一个名词,不错.且看这道题,lead to 里的 to 是个介词, 那么后面接的当然是名词或相当于名词的成分.C和D都是名词,但是你比较一下C和D的关键成分是什么,D的关键成分是the thief这个名词（人）,后面不定式是后置定语修饰它（而且不定往往指将要发生,表结果跟目的）.C的关键成分是being caught这个动名词,表是被捕（事）,the thief只是它的逻辑主语而已.那么C跟D谁符合逻辑?是导致一个人（小偷）,还是导致一件事（被捕）呢? 当然是导致被捕这件事.
