画梅干首先要注意墨色上浓淡干湿的变化,处理好调墨和蘸墨之间的关系,用大号硬毫提斗笔饱蘸墨色侧锋逆行运笔,随笔势的发展笔锋亦随之相互转换,通过提按、顿挫以及笔的顺势强化笔法上的变化,要一次蘸墨一气呵成.对行笔当中出现的散锋或枯涩笔墨,要顺其自然予以保留,待墨色干透后通过罩色全其神貌.主干可用复笔画法,左右两笔并行排列,先左后右依次画出.主干完成后顺势写出粗枝及嫩茎,其画法同于勾皴画法部分所述.勾花亦称圈花,用硬毫勾线,用淡墨勾其轮廓.用笔要有提按粗细的变化,圈出的花要似圆非圆,意在方圆之间.要有正、侧、背的各个面和仰偃的不同姿态变化,画梅多取侧面、半侧面,这样易于体现花多角度的不同姿态.

" When you're drawing the trunk of wintersweet,first and foremost,pay attention to the changes of the ink color of shades,dry and wet.Better handle the relationship between inking and dipping in ink.Hold the pen and dip into the ink fully with a large rigidity brush,wield it in the opposite direction with the side front which would be changing as the development of the gestures.The technique of drawing should be strengthenedby lifting and pressing,pause and transition,as well as the going with the flow of the pen,finish it at one stretch.Naturally keep the scattered front or dull and heavy ink during the process of the brush stroke.Complement its whole soul and visage with scumming after the ink dried.Complex strokes method can be used to draw the trunk,both the right and left brushes are paralleling,drawing from the left to the right.Go with the flow to draw the branches and tender stems when the trunk is finished,the drawing method of which is as described in the part of the hook and cracked drawing method.The hooking flower is aslo known as ringing flower,drawing the outline with the rigidity brush and contouring with light ink.There should be changes of lifting and pressing,and the degree of thickness when the pen is used.The flowers which are circled should be like round but non-circular,leaving the idea inbetween the round and square.There should also be the changes of different facets of front,side and back,as well as that of different gestures.In the most circumstances,flank and half side are often adopted to display the different gestures from multi-angle of the wintersweet."
