Many fathers have to spend a lot of time working to support their family,sometimes leaving little time to spend with their wife and child(children).Is this a good thing?What are your views on this topic?

Chinese working fathers who work for long hours sacrifice precious time with their child to bring home an income and provide them with the necessities of life.The matters of food,water,and shelter for a family are the only expected gains working parents have within a business-driven culture.Beyond necessities,the provision of strong bonds and relationships between parent and child—integral to a child’s emotional and mental development—are lost.As parental attachment and influence decreases and the amount of time children spend in non-parental care increases in China,children whose working fathers spending little time with their families and children,exhibit lower scores in school readiness and mathematics,decreased emotional aptitude and feelings of security,and increased behavioral problems.They are at greater risk of being physically
abused,or harmed by physical or emotional neglect.
Parents that do not understand how his/her child feels about their working situation are parents often lacking effective communication.Effective communication is imperative in any relationship,but for working parents,it is important to understand how the child feels about the work situation.
Children want their parents to work,if that is what the parents want to do.There is an understanding that work brings income and income equates to buying goods and services.One boy,age 9,said,“I think that it doesn’t matter who works as long as you get the money you need and take care of your family”.Young children understand the necessities of life and the need for work.
Children tend to be proud that their parents work and have a respect for their parents.Nevertheless,it is equally important to note that children can see the side effects of the working family.“If you want children,treat them like you want them,” one boy says.Another child said,“Encourage your children in whatever they do,and be there for your children when they need you most.Family values should be your #1 priority”.Family values are important to children because money can not buy everything as one girl says,“I know work is hard for you,and about 50% of the reason you work is to support your children,but money won’t buy them love and good guidance throughout their lives” .
