从我个人的知识层面来讲,我觉得这个句子结构上要这样划分
we // are at a loss // as to explain the details
we 是主语
are at a loss 是谓语(类似系表结构)
as to explain the details 是状语
在理解句子意思时我觉得这样划分看句子会比较好理解

as to 是关于 至于 为了 的意思
我不是很赞同to explain the details 是不定式的什么用法,不定式是英语动词的一种形式.
再问: 可是如果把as to看作介词短语的话,后面不是应该跟动名词explaining更为恰当吗?
