其实我最想明白的是为什么一下都不是被动语态：It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death.
他知道他必须要跑得比最慢的羚羊快,否则他就会饿死；
Those animals would starve to death,which means that the animals that eat them would starve as well.

starve这个词就是作为主动的动词存在的.
其实和中文里面的“挨饿”是一个意思,挨不挨饿都是你自己的事情,找得到吃的就不挨饿,找不到就挨饿,没有“被挨饿”这回事.
最简单的例句是：
I am starving.我好饿啊/我快饿死了.
都是主动.
starve做缺乏讲的时候,有be starved of的用法,在某方面缺乏.
