We use as + adjective/adverb + as to make comparisons when the things we are comparing are equal in some way:
我们用 as + 形容词或副词 + as 来比较两个有相似点的事物.
1）The world’s biggest bull is as big as a small elephant.
2）The weather this summer is as bad as last year.It hasn’t stopped raining for weeks.
3）You have to unwrap it as carefully as you can.It’s quite fragile.
We use not as … as to make comparisons between things which aren’t equal:
我们用 not as … as 来比较不相等的事物.
1）It’s not as heavy as I thought it would be,actually.
2）Rory hasn’t grown as tall as Tommy yet.
3）She’s not singing as loudly as she can.
4）They didn’t play as well as they usually do.
We can modify not as … as by using not quite as or not nearly as:
我们用 not quite as or not nearly as 来修饰 not as … as.
1） The second race was not quite as easy as the first one.
(The second race was easy but the first one was easier.)
2） These new shoes are not nearly as comfortable as my old ones.
(My old shoes are a lot more comfortable than these new shoes.)
We often use expressions of possibility or ability after as … as:

1）Can you come as soon as possible?
2）Go to as many places as you can.
3）We got here as fast as we could.
When we want to make comparisons referring to quantity,we use as much as with uncountable nouns and as many as with plural nouns:当我们要作量的比较时,不能计算的名词我们用as much as ,能计算之名词的复数则是与as many as 一起使用.
1）Greg makes as much money as Mick but not as much as Neil.
2）They try to give them as much freedom as they can.
3）There weren’t as many people there as I expected.
