英语翻译
The higher a plane flies, the colder the temperature of the air around it.At 35,000 feet and above, the outside air is around minus 70 degrees Fahrenheit(minus 50 degrees Celsius) far,far colder than an icebox.
As an aircraft climbs, atmospheric pressure falls too, from about 15
pounds per square inch at sea level to around four pounds per square inch at airliner cruising height, which may be 10.000 feet above the highest altitude that will sustain human life.Cabin pressure is usually allowed to fall gently to the equivalent of 8,000 feet, and maintained at that level by pressurizing the fuselage.
Piston-engined aircraft and turboprops have air compressors to maintain cabin pressure.Jet engines handle so much air that pressurization supplies can be bled from them under great pressure, and already very hot. These are cooled in a heat-exchanger,from where some is fed to the cabin and the excess expelled.Full pressurization can add a ton of weight to a Boeing 747.
