一、动词都会有一个执行该动作或状态的行为发出者,主动语态中谓语动词的行为者是句子的主语,被动语态中谓语动词的行为者是介词by 后的名词,这些都好理解.不定式是动词,当然也应该有自己的行为者,这种行为者称作不定式的逻辑主语. 　　不定式的逻辑主语分为三种情况出现： 　　1、句子的主语同时也是不定式的逻辑主语,如：I have something to tell you. 【句子主语既是谓语动词have 的主语,又是不定式to tell 的逻辑主语,等于I have something and I will tell you 】　　2、用介词短语for sb. 表示不定式的逻辑主语,如：There are many things for me to do. 【不定式的逻辑主语是介词宾语me,等于There are many things and I will to do them.】　　3、逻辑主语是说话语境中包括本人在内的任何人,如：There are many things to do. 【不定式的逻辑主语可能是for me/us,可能是for you,可能是for him/them,也可能everybody.因为这个/些人就存在于语境中,不言自明,无需浪费笔墨或口舌提及】 　　二、基于上述情况,不定式与被修饰词就会有不同的逻辑关系. 　　1、主谓关系,如：He is always the first to come. 【除了句子主语外,被修饰词the first 也是不定式的逻辑主语】　　2、动宾关系,如上面所举的三个例句：I have something to tell you. 【被修饰词something 是tell 的逻辑直接宾语】There are many things for me to do 和There are many things to do.. 【被修饰词things 都是to do 的逻辑宾语】　　3、动状关系,如：This is the way to do it. 【被修饰词 way 是不定式to do it 在逻辑上的方式状语,等于to do it in the way】I have no time to do it. 【被修饰词 time 是不定式to do it 在逻辑上的时间状语,等于to do it at the way】He has no money to buy a car. 【被修饰词 money 是不定式to buy a car 在逻辑方式状语,等于to buy a car with the money】 　　三、本句Data showing the scale of the nickel supplied problem is almost impossible to find 可以化简为—— Data is almost impossible to find. 　　本句中的逻辑主语属于上面提到的第三种话语境中存在包括本人在内的任何人,即—— Data is almost impossible for sb. to find. 　　这个sb. 其实可能就是(for) me、(for) you、(for) people、(for) any person 等呼之欲出的人,意思是“包括我在内的人会发现”.如果改为—— Data is almost impossible to be found. 　　这样就等于是句中省略了by other people,意思成了“被不包括我的其他人发现”.
