I am really against the idea that the parents give money to their children in order to encourage them to study hard. Encouragement is not wrong itself. However, when it's involved with money, the property has been greatly changed. Personally, studying is students' responsibilities and obligations. And it's something that they must do. Children are young, they just lack the ability of controlling themselves. Sometimes they can not distinguish right from wrong and need guidance and assistance from their parents.
The rewarding act mentioned above will create some bad consequences. It will form their false philosophy and axiology. The information conveyed to them is that studying is only for money. In the long run, it will really have a bad influence on the children’s life even after they are grown up.
Thus, my suggestion is that we should advocate some useful and healthy way to encourage the children's study. For example, parents can promise them an outdoor picnic, a mountain climbing or something if they get a good score in the exams. Parents should pay more attention to their children's life and study, give them more praises, other than money or scolds. In this way, the relationship between the parents and children is improved. And the children are more likely to make great improvement in study as well as form a correct attitude towards life.
