School uniforms are nowadays a very controversial and well-debated issue in our society.The opponents argue that uniforms suppress students’ right to free speech or expression.But as my sight,I think school uniforms are should be required because it can increases the safety of students,strengthen students’ sense of belongings,and reduce distractions for students.
Although many people claim that require all students to wear uniforms should be seen as infringement on students’ freedom,it must also be recognized that wearing uniforms is an effective way to discipline students.School safety has set off alarm bells with frequent reports of vicious incident occurred on campus,so uniforms can sever the function of identification to avoid people who do not belong on campus.Further more,students in uniforms behave more appropriately in school environments.The belief arises from uniforms dictating a stricter atmosphere that encourage students to follow the rules.It is the mainly reason for reduce the risk of student robbery and carrying of weapons.So Violence in uniform schools is lower than other schools.
Some people believe that mandatory uniforms wearing might eradicate individuality,one can also be argued that a uniform is one of the best features of each school.Every country has its own national flag.Every football team has its own club emblem.Similarly,every school has its own uniform.A uniform helps us to distinguish among schools.When we see a student at the street or on the media,we can tell where he is studying by the uniform that he is wearing.Moreover,each school has a particular tradition.School uniforms can instill a felling of school spirit.Wearing them can make students proud of their schools’ quintessence.
While it is true that students have rights to pursue their interests and likes,it can also argue that school uniforms can reduce distractions for students.School uniforms can help the students perform academically better.Students concentrate more on their studies rather than on deciding their wardrobe.School uniforms reinforce the idea that all students are equal.Students are less likely to form cliques or bully certain member of the class.For example,some students tend to be misjudged and ridiculed by others due to the price of clothes they wear.So,the uniform is the most effective barrier to stop this phenomenal happening.And their parents can extricate themselves from excessive clothing spending also.
In short,for the reasons above,I strongly agree that all school students should wear uniforms at school.It makes the campus be safer,makes the students more proud of their school,and helping students learning more attentive.
