Municipal commercial bank is the product of monetary system reform and institutional innovation in our country, which has gone through 17 years’ ups and downs since its establishment in 1995. And as expected, remarkable achievements has been accomplished during its progress so that it has already become “the third echelon” except for state-owned commercial bank and joint-equity bank in Chinese banking industry, proving to be a decisive momentum to propel local economic construction. However, with the increasingly open and development of domestic financial market, not only challenges from foreign bank, but also competition with so many various domestic banks are to be faced with. In this essay, main factors that restrict development of our municipal commercial bank and then strategies of Beijing Bank development are analyzed based on introduction of evolution, current situation and features of municipal commercial bank. In the end, based on fore analysis, suggestions on strategies aiming at Chinese municipal commercial bank development has been put forward, and then detail discussion has been presented concerning five aspects, that is, capital optimize strategies, structure management perfection strategies, business innovation strategies, market strategies and alliance strategies.
