Today the mail is sent every day at our door.But many years ago,things were quite different.In the early days of the mail no one could be sure about where or when it would arrive.
In the south of Africa there was once a post office under a rock.In the old days,the trip from England to India was made around the Cape of Good Hope.It took six months.If sailors wished to send mail home,they would have to leave it under a certain large stone.On the stone were written the words :“ Letters under the rock.” The ship would pick them up and catty them home.
