If advocacy for social transformation values both process and outcomes,
there must be spaces structured throughout the advocacy to
think about and define what success is and how it will be measured
in an iterative way.Evaluation,like other moments in advocacy
strategies,is an opportunity to generate an empowering process and
build capacities.(Clark,2001,pp.11-12)

and implemented is over.Perhaps you met with your supervisor about
a client's unmet needs.Maybe you told the board of directors at an
agency how the agency's policy was negatively affecting clients and
offered ideas for improvement.You might have testified to a legislator's
aide about changes to a bill that could benefit many citizens of your
state.Whatever your advocacy effort was,you have done it,and you are
still alive to tell the tale.
But a question still looms:to what extent did you achieve what you
wanted to accomplish when you planned the effort?Sometimes your
advocacy effort achieves everything you hoped for.Sometimes it seems
to achieve nothing tangible.Most efforts fall somewhere between these
