一.On Thanksgiving
There are many kinds of Thanksgiving Days in the world.American Thanksgiving Day is another important holiday related to Christianity.It is on the fourth Thursday of each November.Thanksgiving Day in the America are considered thank festival,of family gatherings and holiday meals,such as turkeys,pumpkin pie,Indian corn and so on.There are always holiday parades and hot balloons on that day.
A sense of gratitude can acknowledging our interdependent existence.You will be ready to help others if you have a thankful heart.Therefore,a thankful heart is like a magnet.Not only will we attract more things to be grateful for,but also we will attract gratitude from others.“give thanks a little and you will find a lot.”
Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.Be thankful for whatever you have,give and receive.Happy Thanksgiving today and every day!
二.Competition and cooperation
Competition is a common phenomenon in our society .We compete when we play games,we try to do better than others in our study,and there is constant competition for jobs,fame,wealth and so forth.Therefore,we can say that,in a certain sense,competition is one of the motive forces of the development of our modern society.
It is often believed,that competition and cooperation are in opposition to each other.Some people stress competition,without which,in their eyes,there is no responsibility,no drive and ultimately,no progress.Others advocate cooperation whatever they do.They are of the opinion that the dependence of people on one another has increased,without which the society we live in can not keep going smoothly.In reality,we find that in many cases competition goes hand in hand with cooperation.Lets take a football game for example.During the game,one team is competing against the other,but each member of the team must cooperate with his teammates.Otherwise,they would lose the game no matter how skillful each individual player might be.It is clear that competition has much to do with cooperation.
As far as I'm concerned,I do not agree with the view that competition and cooperation are always in conflict with each other.In my opinion,while advocating competition.We should never forget cooperation.In our social life,cooperation is especially necessary because most work is fulfilled with or through other people.So Ive come to the conclusion that competition are equally important.
三.Learning：A Lifelong Career
As food is to the body,so is learning to the mind.Our bodies grow and muscles develop with the intake of adequate nutritious food.Likewise,we should keep learning day by day to maintain our keen mental power and expand our intellectual capacity.Constant learning supplies us with inexhaustible fuel for driving us to sharpen our power of reasoning,analysis,and judgment.Learning incessantly is the surest way to keep pace with the times in the information age,and an infallible warrant of success in times of uncertainty.
Once learning stops,vegetation sets in.It is a common fallacy to regard school as the only workshop for the acquisition of knowledge.On the contrary,learning should be a never-ending process,from the cradle to the grave.With the world ever changing so fast,the cease from learning for just a few days will make a person lag behind.What's worse,the animalistic instinct dormant deep in our subconsciousness will come to life,weakening our will to pursue our noble ideal,sapping our determination to sweep away obstacles to our success and strangling our desire for the refinement of our character.Lack of learning will inevitably lead to the stagnation of the mind,or even worse,its fossilization,Therefore,to stay mentally young,we have to take learning as a lifelong career.
四.The Importance of English Learning
we all know the importance of learning english.it is widely used almost in every way of modern life.first,we could communicate with people from abroad,thus,we communicate with people all the world and cross cultural barrier.besides,we could surf the internet in english with foreigners in order to broaden our outlook and enrich life.what's more,it helps to find a good job and do well in one's future work.if we master english,it is convienent to get imformation from books and magzines,which is also a quality that a cross century talent should have.we can have a more bright future and a higher salary job if we have a good command of english.
